Learning Chinese

There are two language centers in National Taiwan University for students who wish to learn or improve their Chinese. They are the Chinese Language Division of the NTU Language Center and the International Chinese Language Program (ICLP).

In addition, to improve the quality of Freshman Chinese education, the Chinese proficiency test, designed for all incoming overseas Chinese students and international undergraduate students, will be held at the beginning of each academic year.

The Chinese course will be arranged according to the result of the test to ensure the oversea Chinese students and the international undergraduate students of different proficiency levels a suitable class. "The Chinese Tutorial Project" will be additionally provided for the students of lower levels. Students whose Chinese proficiency do not meet the standard will need to take a one-year pre-course in the Language Center.
